Celebrations at Gasthaus Jana – a hall for weddings, birthdays, christenings and funeral receptions in Dürnkrut

Gasthaus Jana in Dürnkrut has its own dining hall for celebrations: birthdays and milestone anniversaries, smaller weddings, christenings, funeral receptions, company and Christmas parties and club meetings. Menus are discussed personally rather than sold as fixed packages. Dates are arranged by phone.

Which celebrations can be held at Gasthaus Jana?

The hall at Gasthaus Jana is the room for the occasions that have always been held in a village inn in the Weinviertel — from a milestone birthday to a funeral reception. Among others, we host:

How is a celebration planned?

It starts with a phone call. We go through the date, the approximate number of guests and what should be on the table — in person, not through a form. From that comes a menu proposal that can still be changed shortly before the event. We deliberately do not sell fixed packages with a set price per head: a christening for fifteen people needs something different from a company evening.

What food is served at a celebration?

The starting point is the regular menu — schnitzels, grilled cutlets, wedding-style beef roast with bread dumplings, fried zander, soups and cold platters. Much of it can be served in bowls for the table or as a set menu. Requests from Bohemian cuisine are a matter of course, as are meatless dishes for individual guests. You are welcome to bring your own cake.

A funeral reception at Gasthaus Jana

After a funeral nobody wants to organise anything. A short call with the date, time and rough number of guests is enough — we take care of the rest. The hall is quiet and separate from the regular restaurant, with no fixed time limit. If it has to happen at short notice, say so on the call; in these cases short notice is the rule rather than the exception.

When is the hall available?

That depends on the date and changes constantly, which is why we keep no online calendar. Call with your preferred date and you will get a binding answer straight away. We will also clarify whether a celebration is possible on one of the closing days.

Why celebrate at the inn rather than at home?

How do I book a date?

By phone. The number is on the Contact page, along with the opening hours. For your guests the Directions and surroundings page is useful — Dürnkrut is on the Vienna–Břeclav railway line and the B49 road.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, smaller weddings. The hall suits a drinks reception and wedding dinner after the civil ceremony. The schedule, menu and date are arranged by phone.

Does Gasthaus Jana host funeral receptions?

Yes. A call with the date, time and rough number of guests is enough. The hall is quiet and separate from the restaurant, and short-notice bookings are possible.

How much does a celebration cost?

There is no fixed price per head. You pay for what is actually eaten and drunk, and the menu is agreed in advance. We will give you a rough idea on the phone.
